Welcome

I knew in 5th grade what to do when I grew up, be an environmentalist.  The year was 1969 and solutions to pollution were (not dilution) but pretty simple to a 10-year-old:  'Clean up after yourself', 'Don't take more than you need', and 'Waste not'. I became a member of Sierra Club as a young adult and joined to be counted as one more in favor of long-term sustainable environmental practices.  Fast forward to the 21st century and in the words of a childhood icon, "It's not easy to be green".  We have learned to recycle, but not reduce enough.  We have learned to conserve water, but not to live within local water supply.  Climate change is here to stay and means bigger floods and drier droughts for Ventura County.  When will the average person acknowledge that natural resources are not infinite?  Come along and help the Ventura Sierra Club move the needle in the right direction! For renewable energy over fossil fuels.  For letting our ocean species have their marine environment without human damage.  Bookmark this new Ventura Sierra Club website and check out the calendar, issues, or make a donation. Because in the words of another childhood icon, "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better.  It's not."  ~the Lorax.  Thank you and see you outside.
