By the Sierra Club California 30x30 Task Force
The California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) is currently wrapping up its first engagement phase for implementation of Governor Newsom’s executive order to protect 30% of California’s lands and waters by 2030, and in doing so create more equitable access to nature for communities across the state. Tomorrow we’ll see the final regional meeting (San Diego) of a series of 9 regional meetings that have been held across the state over the last month to solicit local input on 30x30 priorities. We want to express immense gratitude to all the Sierra Club activists around the state who have worked hard to attend and provide input at these meetings.
As a supplement to these regional meetings, CNRA has created a public questionnaire for written feedback as part of this process, which is due this Friday May 14th. Members of the Sierra Club California Statewide 30x30 Task Force are already working to provide input to this questionnaire that reflects conservation priorities identified by local chapters. But in addition, we encourage all members of the Sierra Club to fill out this questionnaire to contribute their local knowledge and expertise to the state’s efforts.
Below are resources to help you provide input to this questionnaire:
- CNRA Questionnaire (note that you can only submit responses once)
- Sierra Club CA 30x30 talking points for regional meetings
