Admin volunteer opportunities available with the SF Bay Chapter and Marin Group

There are currently two open positions for folks looking to get involved in the administrative side of the local Sierra Club: Front Desk Receptionist / Admin / Phonebanking Volunteer at the SF Bay Chapter office in Berkeley, and Sierra Club Marin Group Secretary / Administrator.

Front Desk Receptionist / Admin / Phonebanking Volunteer at the SF Bay Chapter office in Berkeley

The Sierra Club SF Bay Chapter is looking for a few people to staff the front desk at our Berkeley storefront office. We ask for a commitment of one day a week (Wednesday or Friday) for at least three hours for at least three months.

You'll be fielding questions and concerns from members of the public in person and on the phone. We'll also ask you to help out with administrative tasks like data entry and phonebanking to inform Sierra Club members of events and issues. You must be comfortable on the phone.

We ask for a regular shift of at least three hours per week, usually between 10 AM and 2 PM. This position fluctuates between periods of activity and periods of slower-paced work. It's a good fit for for reliable, on-time people who enjoy interacting with the public – especially over the phone.

To learn more and express interest in this position, email walter.pope@sierraclub.org.

Sierra Club Marin Group Secretary / Administrator

The Sierra Club Marin Group Executive Committee is a very active group of environmentalists, all busy watchdogging activities in Marin County, attending meetings, and commenting on Environmental Impact Reports, development projects, etc. This leaves little time for the important administrative work of taking minutes, tracking projects and documents, supporting our growing mailing list, posting on social media, and writing articles for the Yodeler and other local papers.

Do you have these skills and want to make a huge contribution to Marin environmental efforts? Contact Judy at scmaringroup@gmail.com for more details on time commitment (flexible), potential projects, and skill requirements. This work could easily be broken into several jobs. We would love to have you on our team.
