Green New Deal town halls in 10 Bay Area cities this April and May

In the last few months, the Green New Deal skyrocketed to national prominence and completely changed the conversation around climate policy in the U.S. This is exactly the kind of bold action that we need to address the interlocking crises of climate, racial, and economic inequality.

This vision is giving me so much hope, but I know it won’t be easy to accomplish. It’s going to take all of us — you, me, our neighbors and friends — working together to build enough support over the next two years so that we can make the Green New Deal law in 2021.

The Green New Deal tour is step #1 to making that vision a reality. Click here to check out the map to find a town hall near you. There are 10 events in the Bay Area through the end of May, in Fairfax, Kensington, Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, San Leandro, Fremont, Palo Alto and San Jose.

Here’s what you can expect: You’ll join dozens (maybe hundreds!) of people in your community to learn about the crisis we face and the opportunity that the Green New Deal provides to change the course of history. You’ll hear about the plan to win the Green New Deal in the next two years, and how you can get plugged in to help make it happen.

Everyday people have signed up to host hundreds of these town halls around the country in their living rooms, church basements, libraries and school auditoriums. By the end of this month, our movement will reach millions of people across the U.S. — and you have the chance to be one of them!
