Measure CC was passed by East Bay voters in 2004 with 72% support to provide funding for park operations and maintenance in the area from Oakland to Pinole west of the hills. The $12-per-year parcel tax will expire soon, and the East Bay Regional Park District is planning to ask the voters to renew it for another 15 years beginning in 2020. Public meetings will be held to discuss Measure CC accomplishments and solicit input on future park projects.

Members should show up and express support for key Sierra Club funding objectives. From north to south, they are:
- Fund parks and trail operations and maintenance for Point Pinole in Richmond;
- Fund operations, development, and maintenance for the Albany Bulb so it can be brought into the McLaughlin Eastshore State Park;
- Fund operations and maintenance and a visitor's center for McLaughlin Eastshore State Park in Emeryville, Berkeley, and Albany;
- Fund park operations and maintenance for the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline in Oakland;
- Fund park operations and maintenance for parks in the City of Alameda;
- Fund the "3 R's" of vegetation management in the East Bay hills to promote healthy native ecosystems and make our hills safe from another Great Fire.
Measure CC was and is an operations and maintenance measure — it is not for capital projects. We have Measure WW for that.
