Three ways to help our Oakland Tree Team this weekend

The forecast looks good for a productive weekend of planting and other activities with the Bay Chapter's Oakland Tree Team! The following events will all take place on Saturday, January 28th:

Tree Planting

Details on Meetup

Meet at 10am in West Oakland (24th Street between Mandela Parkway and Peralta Street) — NOT at our usual starting place. We have 26 trees to plant along three sides of this block, so we hope to see a lot of you there. With a good turnout, we should finish by 2 pm.

We're expecting a contingent of volunteers from Bay Area Derby (flat-track roller-derby league). If you wanted the chance to rub elbows with these athletes but not have to put on skates and wear a helmet, this could be it.

You can call or text Derek at 510-435-2452 on Saturday morning if you're running late or need directions.

Tree Pruning

Details on Meetup

We have also tentatively scheduled a pruning event for a separate group of volunteers from 9 am to 1 pm—location to be determined.

Help Build Our Tool-Storage Shed

We have openings for a few people to help build a new tool-storage shed and organize our equipment yard in Fruitvale. The group will meet in the morning and work for most of the day. If you want to help, please Derek at sctreeplanting@gmail.com for details.
