Washington, DC – Today, the Sierra Club is launching a nationwide program to mobilize swing state voters to elect Kamala Harris and defeat Donald Trump.
Through the Sierra Club Independent Action program, the organization aims to mobilize more than 20,000 volunteers across the country to send at least 500,000 letters to voters in key swing states Pennsylvania and Michigan.
Sierra Club National Political Director Sarah Burton released the following statement:
“The stakes in this election couldn’t be higher, as Americans face a choice between a climate champion and the worst president for the environment in history. The Biden-Harris administration has made incredible progress for environmental justice and climate action, from implementing strong rules to protect our clean air and water to making the biggest investment in climate and clean energy in history. We couldn’t be more excited to mobilize the Sierra Club’s nationwide network of members and supporters to elect Kamala Harris to protect and build on that progress to build the clean energy future we need.”
