Governor Wolf: Say no to Mariner East 2!
Should a for-profit corporation be allowed to use eminent domain to lay a dangerous pipeline ten feet from your house? Despite having the WORST safety record of any pipeline corporation in the United States, Sunoco was given the extraordinary power of eminent domain to build their “Mariner East 2” pipeline through the some of the most densely populated areas in Pennsylvania. This pipeline would transport colorless, odorless, highly explosive materials through neighborhoods and across school properties. Every child has the right to be safe in their school. Every child in Pennsylvania has the right to sleep safely in their own beds, not just kids who live outside the blast zone of this 300 mile carbon bomb. But federal and state agencies don’t think so. The townships who refuse to enforce their own safety ordinances don’t think so, either. They approved this dangerous pipeline without any regard for the safety of Pennsylvanias who will live within its blast radius.
