The Ohio Steering Committee wants to provide an update on our Strategic Plan and the Cultural Transformation Initiative (CTI). We're excited for these two opportunities to bring leaders (volunteers and staff) together to build shared language, understanding and vision for OH Sierra Club's work together. For those who have capacity, we encourage participation in both Strategic Planning and CTI.
Strategic Planning – We plan to follow the Chapter Strong process for our plan:

The following is an outline of the proposed timelines for our plan:
March / April 2023 – A survey will be sent to the team who will be participation in the Strategic Plan to start pulling together our priorities for Sierra Club Ohio.
April - June 2023 – Initial zoom meetings to develop community agreements for Sierra Club Ohio, review results from questionnaire and outline steps for a planning retreat.
July (possibly June) – An in person weekend planning retreat.
July/August - November - Subteams will continue the work from the retreat to help build the plan, develop standard operating processes, policies and implementation frameworks for volunteers, committees and staff.
November – 2 hour zoom call to review the plan and next steps.

Approximately 10-15 hours over 3-4 months for general participants
We’d like to have each steering committee member, volunteers, group leaders, and staff, both national and chapter. Ideally, we have several small groups meeting five times bi-weekly. We think we may begin this phase in June or July.

We also wanted to give you an update on our process for the addition of two new Steering Committee members. Our Nominating Committee is actively working on outreach for new members and hopes to begin interviewing prospective volunteers by the end of April. Our hope is to have new members on board in May.
