Walk for Save Soil - June 18th
Looking for a good cause to get involved with while doing something great for both the planet and yourself?
Sierra Club Ohio is an official sponsor of a walk being held in 3 Ohio cities on Saturday, June 18th to raise awareness for soil conservation. Save Soil is an organization that is working to create awareness about soil degradation and to promote policies that safeguard soil health by increasing the organic content in soil to a minimum of 3-6% across all nations.
We need to act now because:
- By 2045, it is expected we will be producing 40% less food than what we are producing right now, and our population will be 9.3 billion people. This is not a world you want to live in, and that is not a world you want to leave our children. - SADHGURU
- 52% of agricultural soils are already degraded.
- Over 2 billion people suffer from nutritional deficiencies.
- A tablespoon of soil contains more microbes than there are humans on the planet.
On Saturday, June 18th the walks will take place in the following cities:
Cleveland - Register Here 9:00 AM Quicken Loans Stage, Cleveland Public Square - 100 Public Square Cleveland, OH 44113
