Member Update

Dear Ohio Sierra Club Members,

2020 has proven to be challenging for most of us and we hope that you and your loved ones are doing well. Due to your hard work, we’ve been able to achieve some really significant accomplishments that everyone can be proud of. Looking to 2021 and beyond we are excited to see what we can further accomplish with your continued help.

Thank you for your patience as we have been getting to know one another, building the necessary knowledge and getting oriented to our new role and responsibilities as the Sierra Club Ohio Steering Committee.

Currently, we are creating a process to speak and listen to stakeholders as we prepare to draft a clear vision and 4-year strategic plan to guide our efforts. While we have a lot of work ahead of us, we are committed to listening to your voices and working with all of you in order to transform Sierra Club Ohio into one that is welcoming and inclusive, that reflects the diversity of our communities and prioritizes transformational relationships in order to be an integral and respectful partner in the movement toward equity and justice. We intend for Ohio to be positioned as a sustainable, innovative and resilient Chapter, intentionally working to ensure that our communities are places in which people and the environment thrive.

We understand that our success as a Chapter is dependent upon each and every one of us working together towards a common goal. We will be reaching out to many of you and also encourage you to reach out to us with any suggestions, feedback and ideas you may have. Your voice matters and we want to hear from you. We believe that effective and open lines of communication are imperative for our continued growth.

We are looking forward to interacting with all of you over the coming months and years ahead. In the meantime, you can learn more about us here and contact us at OhioSteeringCommittee@sierraclub.org.

Yours,
Mary Aguilera, Aryeh Alex, Nancy Ball, SeMia Bray, Darren Fout, Lisa Rooney, Bob Shields
