During the summer our environmental workshops have kept us busy! This is the fifth year we have collaborated with the Children’s Hunger Alliance and Columbus Recreation and Parks. Our goal is to engage youth and create a lasting curiosity and love for nature.
Our workshops entail visiting different schools and teaching students about water pollution and environmental science. We use our Enviroscape, thanks to funding from the Columbus Foundation, which is an interactive tool that provides hands-on learning for students to understand how pollution ends up in our waterways. We also get the kids moving and staying active through a water cycle game that involves the kids running to different stations as they move through the water cycle as a raindrop. It has been a rewarding opportunity to engage young minds.
