Ohio has seen no shortage of pipeline spills and other accidents associated with fracking, yet the industry keeps trying to expand.
Shell’s proposed Falcon pipeline is just the next disaster-in-waiting, and it's key to a massive plan for fracking and petrochemical buildout in the Ohio Valley. Now is your chance to tell Ohio EPA that we don't want any more dirty pipelines.

The Falcon Pipeline would carry more than 107,000 barrels of ethane - classified as hazardous and extremely flammable - per day from the Markwest ethane processor in Cadiz, Ohio, through Harrison and Jefferson counties, under the Ohio River and to a facility in Beaver County, PA that "cracks" or breaks apart the ethane molecules to create ethylene and polyethylene.
Shell Pipeline company is asking the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for permits that would allow the company to construct a pipeline that would cross dangerously close to some 550 family homes, 20 businesses, 240 groundwater wells, 12 public parks, 5 schools, 6 daycare centers, and cross several waterways known to be habitat for the Hellbender Salamander.
The project could impact 319 streams and 174 wetlands and threatens the Upper Ohio, Upper Ohio Wheeling, and Tuscarawas Rivers. In addition, the project would produce unacceptable amounts of air pollution and generate significant carbon pollution.
