A massive pile of wood pellets awaits shipping from the Port of Wilmington to customers in Europe.

A scenic cruise on this boat gave us a glimpse into the damage caused by the wood pellet industry in North Carolina, and around the world.

Andy Wood, director of the Coastal Plain Conservation Group, showed us locations across North Carolina that are directly affected by the wood pellet industry.

Community activist Anita Cunningham explained how people who live near wood pellet plants are directly affected by the manufacturing process.
