New Jersey Inspiring Connections Outdoors is part of National Inspiring Connections Outdoors (ICO), an outreach program of the Sierra Club.  

New Jersey Inspiring Connections Outdoors is a 100% volunteer-run program with the goal of empowering New Jersey youth to connect and reconnect to the outdoors— which benefits youth, volunteers, and the outdoors. The Inspiring Connections Outdoors program seeks to create the next generation of environmental and social justice leaders through building community and increasing exposure to outdoor recreation, advocacy, and leadership training.

Oscar is currently the Chair, Webmaster, & Communication Officer for the ICO committee. As a native of Hudson County Oscar had limited experience with the outdoors growing up, it wasn't until a hiking trip throughout the Northeast that Oscar learned to appreciate nature. Oscar hopes to give back to the community and those from a similar background. His interests include trail running, hiking, camping, and gardening.

Mike Depardieu: Treasurer

Mike is retiring from the financial industry after over 30 years at a major financial firm. He has degrees in industrial engineering, information systems, and statistics. Mike's outdoor interests are biking, hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing.

Amanda Gaglio: Social Media Officer

Amanda is an emerging professional in the environmental nonprofit sector. With a background in both environmental policy and exercise science, she is passionate about Sierra Club ICO's mission of empowering youth to connect to nature. Having spent her childhood exploring New Jersey's outdoors, she found her passion for sustainability and love for nature and hopes to help others do the same. In her free time, Amanda enjoys hiking, camping, and gardening.
