Tim Elwell
Through my life, three things have remained my passions: love, learning and the environment. I strive to be a leader, hard worker and team player; all of which I'd like to bring to the Executive Committee. I work in the radio industry and recently changed companies to accept a role to create a sustainability program in conjunction with marketing and promotions. I'm hoping that the position can be a building block to my goal of a career in conservation. I want to become more involved with environmental issues and make an impact in the community. That's why I'd like to be considered for the Executive Committee. I have volunteered with St. Louis Earth Day, Special Olympics and the Open Space Council as a trip leader for Operation Clean Stream. I truly enjoy being outdoors and cleaning up our world. I'd love the opportunity to serve. Thanks for your time.

I was appointed to the EMG ExCom in Jan 2017 to fill a vacant seat. Now, I am ready to run for a second term. I have found my time on the EMG ExCom fulfilling and challenging. My main other involvement in the Sierra Club here has been chairing our outings committee. I have worked hard to expand our outings program, bring our training standards up to date and reach out to our varied members. Through the ExCom I learned about other issues, many of which impact outings too. I have written articles for the newsletter and helped explore a possible pipeline route in a Missouri wild area. I am retired, able to attend meetings regularly and enjoy giving my time to the worthwhile missions all of us share.

I am currently enrolled in Washington University's Law program and I will be working with the Environmental Clinic there, which I am very excited about. I am also actively involved with the Young Professional Board of Great Rivers Environmental Law Center. I became a member of the Sierra Club a little over 3 years ago as I interned with the Missouri Chapter for 6 month in order to complete my Masters degree in Environmental Law. Throughout that time I could see what impact this organization has and I knew I wanted to contribute more. I now have the opportunity to offer myself for election on the ExCom, as a way for me to give back to this great organization and help advance its mission which is to explore, enjoy and protect the planet. In my free time, I love hiking with my husband, spending time with friends and family, trail building and participating in other outdoor activities, as well as arts and crafts.
