It's easy, it's beautiful and it helps. Monarchs especially will appreciate it. Plant native flowers and shrubs. Look for native milkweed, butterfly weed, bee balm, native asters, sunflowers and coneflowers and more. Monarchs like the sun but also appreciate an area somewhat protected from the wind.

Good sources of information are: Missouri Botanical Garden, Missouri Prairie Foundation, Missouri Department of Natural Resources and nurseries which specialize in native plants.
