Each Spring the Sierra Club provides volunteer judges to the Missouri Whitewater Association for the kayak and canoe slalom races through the rapids of Millstream Gardens Conservation Area on the St. Francis River near Fredericktown.

This year, the races will be held on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16. No experience is needed. Volunteers will be trained and paired with experienced judges for an up-close look at the action. Volunteers may come for one day or both.

See skilled boaters perform, enjoy a beautiful springtime setting, and share the weekend with fellow Sierrans. Call volunteer coordinator George Behrens at (314) 821-0247 if you'd like to help. Free camping is provided in the nearby group camp at Silver Mines Rec Area on Friday and Saturday nights.
