It was January 10-11, 1996.

We started at Brazil Creek and hiked the Berryman Trail and camped at Beechers Spring. It snowed most of the time we were there. That was our first Annual Winter Backpack trip.

We have held a winter backpack trip every year, the first week end after New Years, for 14 years without a break. One year we had 70 degrees and another 12 degrees with 6 inches of snow.

Another year we had "the perfect storm." It snowed on us at night but melted from the roads as we drove out. Our next winter trip will be January 10-11, 2009. Call Bob Gestel for reservations at 636-296-8975
