A good way to spend a summers's day is canoeing down an Ozark stream. A better way is to know how to canoe down the stream you're on. That's why the Instructional Canoeing Committee is having the annual Conoe Clinic on Sunday, June 26.
We hope to have the same format this year as we did last year, where we practice on a lake in the morning and practice and go down a river in the afternoon. Very experienced teachers cover techniques, safety and navigation.
We will rent canoes for tandem students who need them. Solo students will have to provide their own boats. Rental conoes come with paddles and lifejackets.
The clinic will probably be within an hour's drive of St. Louis and it will last all day. Cost will be determined closer to the time of the clinic. Space is limited. For more information or to sign up, call Diane Albright at 314-729-7629 or George Behrens at 314-821-0247.
