Besides outings listings, you can find the current and past Sierrascapes, executive committee officers, lists of committees and how to get involved, news of recent events, notices of coming special events, links to other environmental organizations in St. Louis, links to chapter sites, and other information. You also can join either of the two EMG e-mail discussion groups from the EMG website.
A new feature is the EMG photo gallery. Photography enthusiasts are encouraged to post their best pictures online. This is an automatic process with an upload feature from your browser and a place to write notes about your photo. Wayne is automatically notified of your submission so that he can review it and allow it to hit the official photo gallery.
Website visitors can view your photos from the photo gallery. In addition, photos are now added to the outings page so that we can enjoy a sample photo every time we check outings. Photos taken on Sierra Club hikes, floats, and other activities are welcome additions.
When getting your digital photo ready for posting, be sure to adjust it to get the size under 20 kilobytes. You can reduce the size by reducing the dimensions of the photo and perhaps using a resolution optimizer. We want to allow even those with slow Internet connections to view these photos. Note that any photo you submit becomes public domain and has no copyright protection. And, of course, don't upload copyrighted material.
