Mark your calendar for Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. at the Powder Valley Nature Center.

Professor John Blake, University of Missouri-St. Louis, will discuss the results of a six year survey at Cuivre River State Park to assess the effects of prescribed burns on resident and migrant bird species and the plant community. This important work has potential impact throughout the state as prescribed burning has become an often-used tool in ecological restoration.

Open to all-members or nonmembers. Refreshments will be available.

From the intersection of Interstates 44 & 270, take Watson Rd. to Geyer Rd. Turn north on Geyer for 200 yards to Cragwold Road. Go west on Cragwold for 1 mile to Nature Center entrance on right. Follow drive to parking lot. Enter building through left entrance.
