Missouri River Clean-Up Planned

The Missouri River Relief effort is alive and well! On Saturday, October 12, 2002 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. help clean up the Missouri River at Frontier Park in St. Charles, Missouri. If you, or someone you know, is interested in working on one of the barges as a member of a river crew or on a ground team tasked with cleaning sections of the KATY trail or the riverfront, please contact La'Rhonda Garrett of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' St. Louis Urban Outreach Office at 314/340-5925 or nrgarrl@mail.dnr.state.mo.us to sign up. Teams of individuals are both appreciated and encouraged as our goal is to have 500 volunteers!

Missouri River Relief will also host a simultaneous Environmental Expo at Frontier Park from noon until 7:OO p.m. on Saturday, October 12. The Expo includes performances, speakers, exhibitors, an education tent, a River Art area, and a River Cafe. An audience of at least 4,000 is expected.
