MO Green Building Coundil Forum on Climate Action - October 8 Participants will share information about national and local action – including climate targets, standards, and goals specific to their organizations. A moderator will host a round-table discussion on commonalities, challenges, and how we can work together to enact more local change. REGISTER HERE
EMG ExCom Monthly Meeting - October 8 The Executive Committee of the Eastern Missouri Group meets monthly to review group activities and business. EMG Event: Report on Service and Backpacking with National Sierra Club - October 10
In August 2022, Matt Self joined a group of Sierra Club volunteers from around the country and spent a week in the Idaho backcountry rerouting and rebuilding trails with the National Forest Service. In this presentation, Matt will review highlights the logistics and work from the trip and will discuss the wonderful benefits of service trips with the National Sierra Club. RSVP HERE

Klondike Park, St. Charles Co. – Beyond Coal Educational Outing - October 24 There will be 2 fairly steep inclines while walking (one paved and 0.2 miles in length, to top of Missouri River Bluffs). This is an excellent viewing point of the Labadie Coal Burning Power Plant. The 2nd steep but shorter incline is from the Katy Trail back into the Klondike Park boundaries. RSVP HERE

Trash Pick-up Along Centennial Greenway - October 5 The Eastern Missouri Group has adopted the section of the Centennial Greenway between Olive Blvd. and Shaw Park. The trash pick-up will start at 9:00, meeting at the intersection of Delmar and McKnight, in the parking lot where Half Priced Books is located, 630 N. McKnight Rd, St. Louis, MO 63132. This is the halfway point and volunteers will split into two groups, one group heading north to Olive and the other going south to Shaw Park. Each section is one mile long, so the total distance is two miles out and back. If you are interested in helping, please SIGN UP HERE.
October Volunteering at Don Robinson State Park - October 11 We will be working on some more maple thinning or trail work in a woodland section of the park. Depending on weather and attendance, we may also help with invasive species removal or social trail closing, SIGN UP

Just around the corner! EMG Annual Holiday Party and Potluck - December 7
Celebrate the season at the annual EMG Holiday Party! The holiday party is a potluck. Please bring a favorite dish to share (appetizer, salad, main course, side dish or dessert) to feed at least 8.* Microwave and refrigeration available. Crock pots for hot dishes suggested. Please note, there is no stove or oven. To help reduce our impact, please bring your reusable cup to enjoy the provided coffee and tea. If you would like to bring another beverage to share, please do! Please note that wine, beer, and champagne are the only alcoholic beverages allowed at the venue.
