Interested in making our community healthier, for people and the environment? Here’s how you can help!
Growing Green does the following:
-Organizes presentations at neighborhood associations, garden tours, and even door-to- door.
-Represents Sierra Club and Growing Green at various festivals in the Grand Rapids area.
…..So, where do I fit in?
If you're a "planner," you can make a real difference in our community, by sharing your skills! Either by joining the Growing Green subcommittee, or by taking on one small aspect of planning for a Growing Green event. Examples might include one of the following: brainstorming, contacting a potential speaker, choosing materials, advertising, or coordinating volunteers, -whether small or large, your participation can really help the event become a success! To volunteer or learn more about helping with planning, contact us at growinggreengr@gmail.com
If your skills and availability lie more toward helping on the day of the event, we definitely need you too!! This might be: taking a shift at a table, chatting with the public and showing them our informational materials, setting up for an event or hanging flyers, or going door to door sharing materials. If you'd like to be on the email list of people who might be able to help an event on the "day of", contact growinggreengr@gmail.com
Another way to help is by just swinging by, having fun hanging out with us at the event, and showing the public there are so many in the community who care!!
