Oakland County Climate March, Rally and Fair - April 22, 9:00 AM
The Oakland County Earth Day March, Rally, and Fair is open to all interested people. We encourage members and supporters of the Michigan Chapter to come dance and march in the streets with us to celebrate the strength of our movement and the vision of a cleaner, more justice-oriented future we hope to achieve. Highway Cleanup - Saturday, April 22, 10:30 AM
Join the Sierra Club Michigan's Clearwater Network in helping keep one of Northern Michigan's busiest highways clean. We'll meet at the McDonald's parking lot north of Mancelona off US 131 and will be covering a 2-mile stretch on US 131. Bring gloves and comfortable walking shoes. Bags and vests provided. RAIN DATE - Saturday April 29th @ 10:30 a.m.
Midland, Michigan:
Earth Day Action Expo 2023 - Saturday, April 22, 11 AM
The Sierra Club will have a booth and will be participating in this great event. There will be food trucks, hands-on-science, art giveaways, and ecology-focused activities from 40+ exhibitors. Learn more HERE.
Grand Haven, Michigan:
Earth Day Lakeshore Celebration 2023 - April 29, 12:30 PM
Come join us for the Green March at 12:30 (gather in the County Courthouse parking lot). We’ll March through Grand Haven carrying signs supporting Earth Day sustainability, and green living. Bring or ride any vehicle that does not run on fossil fuels. Electric vehicles, bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc, or just WALK! Bring posters and signs! We’ll end the March at Central Park Place (formerly Grand Haven Community Center) for the Earth Day Fair.

Reclaiming Earth Day Celebration, April 19, 4:30 - 7 PM
Join us as we honor our history, celebrate the founders of the Detroit environmental justice movement, and build intersectional solidarity as we reclaim Earth Day for our communities who have borne the brunt of climate change and pollution for far too long. This event is free to attend. Light programming and food will be available. Please join us as we celebrate our community, share stories and grow our collective power.
Earth Day Rally Against DTE & GM, April 22, 1 - 4 PM
On Earth Day, college students from across Michigan will join environmental and social justice advocates in downtown Detroit to demand accountability from two major corporate polluters.
Rain Barrels on the Riverfront, April 29th, 9:30 AM
Join Sierra Club Great Lakes, MI Rain Barrel and Detroit Riverfront Conservancy for Rain Barrels on the Riverfront! This year we are returning to our original hands on in-person workshop, where we build the rain barrel together! The event will take place on Saturday, April 29th from 10:00am - 12:00pm at Gabriel Richard Park (7130 E Jefferson Detroit, MI 48207).
Manistee:
2040 Film Screening in Manistee, Tuesday, April 25, 7 PM
Motivated by his 4-year-old daughter and concern for the planet she will inherit, Damon Gameau, Australian award-winning director embarks on a global journey to meet innovators and changemakers to discover what the future could look like by the year 2040 if we embraced the best solutions already available to us and shifted them rapidly into the mainstream.
The film screening will be followed by discussion with local experts.
Iosco County:
Adopt-A-Forest event at Huron-Manistee National Forest, April 22, 2:00 - 4:00 PM
This forest clean-up is in collaboration with the DNR, who provide a dumpster. Participants will be cleaning up camp and party sites where bonfires were enjoyed along with any other miscellaneous non-woodland items.
City-wide Clean Up, Tawas & East Tawas, April 22, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
On Earth Day the Iosco County Democrats are volunteering to help the newly revived Rotary Club in Tawas and East Tawas, Iosco County host city-wide clean-up projects from 9am-3pm. Groups are welcome to show up to get garbage bags and gloves and a work site assignment of their choice. How much time to help is up to each group!

The morning will begin with a community clean-up from 9:00-11:00 am. Please check in at the pavilion to get a location to pick up trash. All supplies will be provided.
