Do these three things to protect progress on clean energy!

Every day, headlines remind us why we must fight to protect our progress in transitioning to clean energy - from the heartbreaking devastation of hurricane Helene to news that fireflies may make the endangered species list. We have so much we must fight to protect.

Democracy is our best weapon against the greed of fossil fuel companies, utilities and petrochemical companies driving climate change. We must turn out grassroots voter support for the pro-environment champions who have stood with us against the corporations that still have too much power in Lansing. Last week fifteen Sierra Club volunteers, staff and interns joined us to support Rep. Reggie Miller. Rep. Miller deserves ongoing support, given how hard she fought for environmental protections on tax breaks for data centers.

Do three things to fight for the champions we must reelect!

  1. Join us to canvass for Jaime Churches on Friday, Oct. 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Trenton at Jaime’s  campaign headquarters. Email christy.mcgillivray@sierraclub.org to RSVP!
  2. Sign up to phone bank for Betsy Coffia - on Thursdays and Sundays! Sundays are especially needed. Please let christy.mcgillivray@sierraclub.org know when you sign up!
  3. Sign up to phone bank for Jenn Hill! This is an OPEN virtual phone bank which means you can log in to make calls at any time with your own phone and computer. Please let christy.mcgillivray@sierraclub.org know when you sign up!

Next Steps:

  1. We have more champions to support! Sign up for extra voter contact. We’ll book extra days for Reps. Reggie Miller, Denise Mentzer, Shadia Martini, Dan Mahoney and Janise O’Neil Robinson!
  2. Vote early or absentee so you can make your Get Out the Vote (GOTV) plans with Sierra Club.
  3. Tim Minotas will run Sierra Club’s Get Out The Vote for our champions in Southeast Michigan, and Christy McGillivray will run Sierra Club’s GOTV for our champions in Northern Michigan. Sign up by emailing them to make sure we sprint across the finish line for clean energy and the Great Lakes!
