Sierra Club Michigan Hosting Grassroots-Powered Lobby Day for Clean Energy

Over 120 participants expected to join staff and leadership to advocate for utility accountability, clean energy for all, and community solar at the capital

Lansing, MI - On Wednesday, May 17, the Sierra Club Michigan Chapter will be hosting their first in-person Lobby Day since 2019 at Michigan’s Capital. Sierra Club will be bringing citizen lobbyists from around the State to Lansing to meet with their elected officials to discuss the priority issues Michiganders care about - clean, reliable energy, utility accountability, and solar for all.

This lobby day comes at a critical time for environmental issues; recently, Michigan House lawmakers re-introduced bad legislation on aggregate mining, a bill package the Sierra Club has defeated multiple times during previous legislative sessions. Sierra Club members are flooding Lansing to make it clear that state lawmakers must prioritize clean, renewable energy - an issue that has bipartisan support in Michigan.
