As the November general election draws near and absentee ballots start to circulate at the end of this month, Michigan Chapter members are encouraged to learn about Sierra Club-endorsed candidates.
Electing environmental advocates to local, state and federal offices is essential for safeguarding the health of citizens, preserving natural resources and protecting the Great Lakes. This is a crucial time in Michigan for setting a new, higher standard when it comes to environmental policy. Redistricting created an opportunity to elect an environmental majority in Lansing. The decisions voters make in 2022 will have a lasting impact for a generation to come. This year offers the starkest choice between two competing visions for Michigan’s future. The very fabric of democracy in Michigan is at stake.
