Sierra Club joined partner organizations as part of the MI Clean Cars 2030 campaign at a September 22 virtual press conference.
MI Clean Cars 2030 is a campaign of the Ecology Center and the Michigan Electric Vehicle Alliance (MEVA.). The MI Clean Cars 2030 campaign is pushing Michigan policymakers to commit to a goal of 100% electric vehicle sales of light-duty and passenger vehicles by 2030 in Michigan. A speedy transition to electric vehicles can push Michigan to the forefront of the EV industry and lead the path toward a healthy climate and healthy economy for Michiganders. For this to be possible, a comprehensive, equitable EV plan must be developed to ensure success. According to a recent poll, the majority of Michigan voters support setting a target for 100% electric new vehicle sales by 2030.
