November 8th is shaping up to be a pivotal election in the state of Michigan. With elected positions up for grabs across the State, it can be difficult to know who on the ballot will preserve and protect the environment of the state. The Sierra Club has compiled a list of candidates running in this upcoming election that have earned our endorsement through a commitment to environmentalism - check it out HERE!
With the State Senate up for grabs for the first time in nearly 40 years and the State House for the first time in 12 years, it is crucial to the environmental future of the state that legislators with strong records of protecting the Great Lakes, forests, waterways and the health of Michigan and Michiganders, are in office fighting for reform.
Voters can find out where their polling location is, what house and senate district they're in and even see a sample of what their ballot will look like, by going to the link HERE. Election day is Tuesday November 8th from 7 am to 8pm. Voters can obtain an absentee ballot by contacting their city or township clerk anytime before or on election day November 8th. Individuals eligible to vote but not registered can register anytime before or on election day as well, meaning it is possible to register and vote on the same day.
