Over the past month, a group of high school students from Rochester called "Gen Z 4 Green" have been running an extensive can collecting campaign to raise funds to support the work of the Michigan Chapter. In total, the students have raised $730.00!

Last week, Legislative and Political Coordinator Tim Minotas, met with the group to hear about their work, and what got them involved and active. Tim shared information about the work of the Sierra Club, as well as how staff and volunteers can be supportive of their efforts.

The Michigan Chapter is so inspired by today's youth who are taking control of their future and their lives. Sierra Club leaders are committed to supporting youth empowerment and involvement across Michigan. Michigan communities, and indeed the whole world, are in good hands with these future leaders.

Just like these students, you too can support youth involvement within the Michigan Sierra Club by donating to the Anne Woiwode Fund. This fund goes directly toward helping sustain and build the number, skill and reliability of young people within the Chapter through support of our legislative and political programs. For information on donating to the Anne Woiwode Fund contact Gail Philbin at gail.philbin@sierraclub.org.
