In that happy crowd above are many of our Chapter and Group members enjoying dinner and conversation in a rare in-person meeting this month in Ocean City. We are gearing up for a tremendously active Autumn/Winter season and we welcome you to join in.
The training sessions noted above exemplify this excitement. They will take place weekly and dive into the different skills you need to set goals for an organization AND ACHIEVE THEM. For the schedule and more information, look here. We welcome your participation.
That's not all! Chapter leaders have created an exciting and invigorating newEnergy Committee. You can see more about the Energy Committee Launch here. Maryland Sierrans share a vision for our future where Marylanders have clean air to breathe, healthy and safe buildings to live, work, and go to school in, and an energy system that protects our air, water, land, and wildlife for future generations.
To build this future, we are advocating for bold systemic changes at the local and state level for a just and equitable transition from dirty fossil fuels to 100% clean renewable energy. We are building a people-powered campaign – and we need you to join us!
You can learn more about the new and energetic Energy Committee here. Please give serious thought to joining Team Earth for this critical campaign.
Finally, our friend and ally, the Wicomico Environmental Trust, holds its 2024Annual Banquet on November 8th at Salisbury University. Keynote speaker, Dr. David Curson, has worked as Director of Bird Conservation for Audubon in Maryland since 2004, covering many aspects of bird conservation in the state.
Dave leads Audubon’s coastal program in Maryland, partnering with a wide variety of organizations to implement projects to prevent the loss of salt marshes to climate-driven sea level rise and to safeguard endangered beach-nesting seabirds. Learn more here and don't miss this special night.
Thanks for all you do for the environment,
Jacky Grindrod
