Time runs away from us more quickly than that dog cloud in the sky. We've waited long enough. Let's meet one another in person and let's do it now! Mattaponi Picnic Pavilion on Milburn Landing in Pocomoke River State Park offers a stunning river vista for us to bring our picnic lunches and relax among friends new and old.
Come to Mattaponi Pavilion on Sunday, September 8th from 1 to 4 p.m. Say "Hey" here and let us know you're coming. We can't wait to meet the folks who support the Lower Eastern Shore Group's efforts.
Offshore wind projects are back in the news. "The Maryland Department of the Environment ... received comments regarding US WIND INC’s Joint Federal/State Application ... to construct a 353 foot long by 30 foot wide concrete pier [in West Ocean City]. ... Many comments were received during the Public Notice period which ended on June 7, 2024."
Here are 55 questions that came out of that public notice period, and the experts' answers that go with them.
Decide for yourself, but know that offshore wind energy is not an esoteric field for science dilettantes to explore. Wind is one of the best choices available to mitigate the out-of-control fires, floods, and landslides that are devastating our country. The next public hearing is a virtual one on October 16th. Here is the Public Service Commission's contact person to sign up and express your support. The subject line should read: Request to testify at US Wind’s October 16 virtual hearing, Case No. 9666 with the body of the email saying the same. Sign up! Show up! Make a difference!
We hope your summer has been delightful and that you are looking forward to an equally fine Fall. Our next farmer's market appearance will be in Ocean Pines on Saturday, September 14th. If you haven't yet enjoyed the place, the play, and the products at this vibrant farmer's market, treat yourself on September 14th. See you there!
Thanks for all you do for the environment,
