This event "is the heart and soul of the Cambridge community," and every year, it offers a panoply of creations by local artists and musicians, a wide variety of foods and fashions, and more. It's a 2-day event, and members of our LES Zero Waste team will be there on Saturday, August 17th. We invite you to join us in the festivities, and learn more about what we do.
See more here, and join the fun while we also share vital information about how we can make Earth cleaner and safer for us all.
Our LES Group has the benefit of extraordinary members who regularly bring essential information to our table. Joe Jankowski, our treasurer and a dedicated Protector of the St. Martin River where he works to reinvigorate the oyster population among other restorative efforts, has brought to our attention a stunning deep-dive into the "environmental impacts of food production." Thick with detail and discovery, this article addresses stress on fresh water systems, decimation of forests to produce food, and the harm to our health in prioritizing chicken, fish and beef in our diets. Did you know only 6% of the mammals alive on our planet, not including humans, are wildlife mammals? Neither did I.
Finally, if you are out and about in Princess Anne this Saturday, July 20th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., come to "Coops to Co-ops" at 31140 Peggy Neck Road to sample the delicious array of unique items and foods, and to stop by our table as well. See herefor more on this wonderful transformation of this bucolic space into an oasis of peaceful contentment.
That's all for now, folks.
Thanks for all you do for the environment,
Jacky Grindrod
