As members and supporters of this great organization, we Sierrans want to know how our State Chapter is doing, what it is doing and where it is having the strogest results. Well, here is some big news from Governor Wes Moore who, on June 4th, issued an executive order to battle climate change that includes, among other things, "directives for state agencies to align with Maryland’s climate goals including a zero-emission heating equipment standard regulation and a clean heat standard regulation." There's more to know. You can see details here.
Maryland is making big progess against climate change assaults. Maryland's Sierra Club Chapter, and all of its local Groups such as ours, worked hard to get Maryland this far. That means YOU! Applaud yourself! And don't ever stop doing what is right for Mother Earth.
Finally, you can catch the June issue of Sierra, the magazine of the Sierra Club, here. It is packed with important, useful information that is also quite engrossing. Ben Jealous, executive director of Sierra Club (and I mean, national), wrote "Carbon Capture Pipelines are a Bad Deal" that is among the numerous articles in this edition you will not be able to put down. Treat yourself.
That's all for now, folks. Thank you for all you do for the environment.
