Call your legislators! We need action THIS WEEK!

We need your help!  Many of our priority bills that we’re tracking are moving quickly through the legislative process, and your legislators need to hear from you.  Please reach out to your representative and senator TODAY and tell them your stance on the following bills (to find out who your legislators are, or to find out their contact information, click here):

 

** PRIORITY ** - OPPOSE – SB 490 - WATER/WATERWAYS: Exempts the Comite River from certain provisions of the Louisiana Scenic Rivers Act for a set period of time. (STATUS: This bill has passed out of the Senate and is heading over to the House of Representatives – it will most likely be heard THIS WEEK!)

 

OPPOSE - HB 411 - WATERWAYS/SCENIC RIVERS: Exempts the Tickfaw River from certain restrictions of the Natural and Scenic Rivers Program. (STATUS: This bill has passed out of the House of Representatives and is heading over to the Senate.)

 

** PRIORITY ** - OPPOSE – HB 727 - CRIME: Provides relative to unauthorized entry of and criminal damage to a critical infrastructure. (STATUS: Scheduled for House floor debate on 4.12.18!)

 

SUPPORT – HB 863 - ENVIRONMENT/AIR: Provides relative to facility air quality monitoring (STATUS: This bill has not yet been heard by the House Natural Resources Committee.)

 

SUPPORT – HB 829 - WATER/DRINKING WATER: Provides for public water supply testing by public water systems. (STATUS: This bill has not yet been heard by the House Committee on Health and Welfare.)

 

SUPPORT – HB 633 - WATER/DRINKING WATER: Requires lead water testing for public facilities. (STATUS: House floor debate is scheduled for this bill.)

 

SUPPORT – HB 180 - WATER/RESOURCES: Provides for the groundwater resources in and the commissioners of the Capital Area Groundwater Conservation District. (STATUS: This bill has not yet been heard by the House Committee on Health and Welfare.)

 

SUPPORT – HB 431 - ENVIRONMENT/AIR: Prohibits the open burning of munitions and waste explosives. (STATUS: This bill has not yet been heard by the House Natural Resources Committee.)
