Do you have a love of the outdoors, a strong commitment to equity and justice, and a passion to fight climate change to protect the environment in Indiana? The Winding Waters Group of the Sierra Club Hoosier Chapter is looking for five volunteers to serve on the Executive Committee that do!
The Executive Committee is made up of volunteers from the Sierra Club membership, so that means people just like you! Following the election in December of 2024, each elected member will serve a 2 year term that will begin January 1, 2025.
Ideal candidates might possess some or all of the following attributes:
* Current Sierra Club member (required)
* Commitment to social justice and equity and to protecting our human rights
* Good leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manner
* Some knowledge of local politics and conservation issues (you may begin now by joining us!)
* Passion for protecting land, air and water
* Hiking the beautiful trails in Indiana and beyond
* Also, experience and/or interest in fundraising, lobbying, supporting the Chapter Political Action Committee, and other organizing skills
