Since we first held elections, we have used paper ballots mailed to members. These ballots had to be mailed back and hand counted. Often, these paper ballots were overlooked, forgotten, and not returned. This is incredibly sad. We are a member-driven organization and we really do want to hear from all of our members. 

Also, you can imagine the expense of printing, postage, and time. We would rather spend our time and money on conservation issues, educating the public about the Sierra Club and our wonderful local nature areas.

So, this year we are moving to an electronic ballot for the first time.

Why am I telling you all this now when the elections do not take place until the fall? Well, it is time to create the Nominating Committee. There is a limited time commitment involved in being a member of the Nominating Committee and you can participate from the comfort of your home. If you are interested or just want more information, please let me know.
