Basic Page Sections

A list of pages that show use of the different types of sections one can add to a Basic Page. These sections are components that represent different functionality. 

Dos

  • Feel free to mix and match different sections on the page.
  • Put important information at the top of the page.

Donts

  • Do not cut and paste images into the WYSIWYG
  • As a general guideline do not add more than 10 sections to a page.
    • An alternate to that would be to post individual items into blog posts and then use and index page to display those blog pages (limited to a taxonomy perhaps)
    • Two reasons for this:
      • Pages that have a lot of content take longer to load.
      • The page becomes more an more difficult for a user to parse the meaning of the page. 

Basic Page -- Section

The most basic of the Sections is the "section" a Title and Text block. It would also provide an image that will be displayed in a separate column

Basic Page -- Cards

This is a way of creating a series of items that are displayed in a similar fashion, which could lead to another page on your site, or an external page. There are a couple of different ways the image can be formatted. More than 3 can be added. Or...

Basic Page -- 2 Column

A section for having two columns of differing widths. The content is just a flexible text block (which could include an image.
