Nominating Committee candidate
I’ve been a part of the Sierra Club for more than 30 years, with most of that time being a supporter, albeit not active. I joined many years back when I was the nature counselor at a summer camp, and a student at college helping to star the first community recycling center in Eau Claire Wisconsin.. I knew then that the club had a proud tradition of environmental support and activism.
My involvement has grown to include vice-chair of the Mid-Hudson group, fundraising chair for the chapter as well as the Mid Hudson group.
My personal goals are to find ways to involve younger people in the club along with further developing our programs and services, and advocacy. Central is involvement with fund raising. I believe that the Chapter should be seeking ways to advocate for “exploring” natural New York. We live in an environmentally rich area that calls for us to be more connected and involved. I want to see the chapter offer a stronger outdoor adventure and travel program, Experiential programs of involvement and advocacy build a stronger base fo the Club and the environment.
I look forward to actively serving if elected.
