Hello Tucsonans! We have some big news!! The City of Tucson will be considering and holding a vote on an initiative to declare a climate emergency put forward by Mayor Regina Romero and Councilmember Durham in their meeting at 5:30pm on Tuesday, September 9th! Among other things, this declaration outlines some overarching climate truths as well as setting a climate action plan task force for our future path of climate work in Tucson. A lot of great work has gone into this so far, and now we need a few more actions from you to get it passed!
1. If you haven't yet, PLEASE IMMEDIATELY SIGN onto the initiative written by the Arizona Youth Climate Coalition, and forward it to your networks. We are aiming to get as many signatures as possible today for the initial submission, but are accepting sign-ons until the meeting.

THANK YOU so much for your support thus far and helping achieve this huge step to acknowledging the climate crisis and beginning substantial work to work toward just energy transitions, green/clean local economy, and to mitigate our contribution and the impacts of climate change, which dispropotionately affect youth, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, LGBTQ+ and low-income communities.
