Hello,
Our names are Kyle Kline and Stella Heflin and we are reaching out on behalf of the Arizona Youth Climate Coalition regarding the upcoming Mayor and Council meeting on September 9th -- Mayor Regina Romero and Council Member Paul Durham have proposed a Tucson Climate Emergency Declaration to be discussed and voted upon at this meeting.
Climate justice is an intersectional issue, directly affecting BIPOC, youth, and frontline communities. This declaration is multifaceted as it would set a 2030 carbon neutrality date for Tucson. As a youth-led climate justice organization, we are reaching out to ask you to take the following actions to support Mayor Romero and Council Member Durham in this action:
Sign on to this message of support. Immediate action is imperative!
Read and share the attached infographic, which contains more details about the declaration’s contents.
Send a letter to your City of Tucson council member asking them to approve the declaration. Feel free to use this email template or write your own!
Please forward this email to your contact lists; signatures on the message will be brought before the Mayor and Council at the meeting as evidence of public support.
