PHOENIX -- National Invasive Species Awareness Week (May 16-23) may have just ended, but the effort to stop the spread of invasive species is ongoing.
One way citizen scientists, educators, natural resource managers, project leaders and the general public can learn about and help with invasive species management is
through iMapInvasives. This online, mobile-friendly, GIS-based database and mapping tool serves as Arizona’s main repository for invasive species location information.
What does "iMapInvasives" do?The centralized invasive species data management system enables real-time tracking of infestations and improves management decisions to protect native species and ecosystems. It creates an effective mechanism for sharing information on infestations and management efforts between many partners, including citizen scientists, non-profit organizations, and state and federal agencies.
