For more than a century, Sierra Club has been true to its mission of exploring, enjoying and protecting the planet. We rely on our members to make noise, particularly in light of the Trump administration’s war on clean energy, public lands and anti-climate change actions.
If you’ve never spoken out, written a letter or signed a peti-tion, now’s your chance. Here are some ways Sierra Club can help you get started.
• Go to the Sierra Club’s Take Action website to learn about the pressing issues of the day. Click on the issues that speak to you and sign a petition or send a letter to lawmakers. Try it — it’s easy. Start at the Club's Take Action web pages to browse current issues.
• Read blogs by Sierra Club’s Executive Director Michael Brune and others for an environmental perspective on what’s happening in Washington, D.C., and around the country.
• Stay on top of local environmental issues by receiving the Southern Sierran, the online newsletter for the Angeles Chapter which covers L.A. and Orange coun- ties. Sign up online.
• Learn how to be an effective organizer on issues you care about. The Chapter runs workshops and events year-round to train Sierra Club members and members of the community. They are free and open to all. For more information on how you and your family can get involved contact Chapter Conservation Program Manager Angelica Gonzalez at (213) 514-5802 or email angelica.gonzalez@sierraclub.org.
• The Club’s Our Wild America campaign is doubling down in the fight to preserve our wild heritage in the face of threats from fossil fuel extraction and climate disruption.
