Our Endorsement Process
By Susana M. Reyes
Angeles Chapter Political Committee

Our endorsement process follows stringent research and analysis. We review candidates' overall environmental records, policies, and philosophies. A key analytic for determining whether or not to endorse is comparing candidates' voting records to the Sierra Club's own legislative priorities.

We must examine candidates' chances of winning as well. Viability is crucial: in the end, those candidates who've been elected are the ones who will make or break our environmental agenda. Increasingly, other states in the U.S. and even other countries look to California for leadership on environmental matters. Sierra Club believes that protecting our air, water, open space, and wilderness for our families and for our future is not a partisan issue.
