State Parks Saved

Governor Desantis quietly unveiled a plan to bulldoze nine state parks. Our Florida chapter mobilized hundreds of volunteers and allies to organize protests, press events, and overwhelming public turnout at scheduled meetings, forcing the Governor to retreat.

In 2025, We Need Your Help to Face Our Toughest Challenges Yet

The Endangered Species Act Is Under Attack

One of our nation’s most successful and unifying conservation laws faces direct attacks from Congress, including efforts to defund protections, delist species, and weaken critical habitat designations. These changes would undermine decades of progress, gutting the very tools that have kept species like the bald eagle and buffalo from vanishing forever. There is simply too much at stake and the Sierra Club is ready to pressure our legislators.

A Mine Threatens the Grand Canyon

The Pinyon Plain uranium mine pollutes the water that sustains nearby communities, sacred Indigenous lands, and the Grand Canyon’s unique ecosystems. Our local chapter is working alongside Tribal partners, environmental groups, and community activists to stop this mine and protect the Grand Canyon—holding protests and petitioning the Governor to shut it down for good.

Big Oil Has Their Eyes on the Arctic

Corporations are pushing to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge—one of the last landscapes untouched by big oil. Their plans threaten irreplaceable landscapes, critical wildlife habitats, and the livelihoods of Indigenous communities. We are fighting back against efforts to sacrifice millions of acres of pristine lands for profit. Once these wild places are gone, they are gone forever. We will take big oil to court and we will win.
