State Representative #1, District 40
Kris Lytton was endorsed by the Sierra Club in 2010 and 2012. During her first term in office, she worked as a Sierra Club ally on water resources related issues, supporting our legislative priorities in her position on the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee. She was elected as the Deputy Majority Floor Leader, a prestigious position for a first-term representative, which puts her in a better position to advocate for Sierra Club-supported environmental protections during her next term. While education is her first legislative priority, environmental issues also rank high on her agenda. She has received a 94% grade on the WCV scorecard for her four years in office. Her first floor amendment was on the WDFW Wolfe bill at Sierra Club urging; she was able to get the amendment passed by the House, but the Senate never considered the reconciliation. She has been very accessible to the Sierra Club delegation.
