This agreement's intent is to free up trade barriers between both countries including lighter restrictions for Malaysian imports which already account for the tenth largest number of imports to the US. It does not have labor and environmental provisions enough to be a positive agreement. It was not signed before Fast Track expired, so it will fortunately seek congressional pre-approval before being implemented.
