Ready for 100

The Sierra Club's #ReadyFor100 campaign is challenging cities all across the country to commit to 100% clean energy.

Cities have long been the hotbed of innovation, the drivers of change, the incubators of solutions to the world’s biggest challenges. Clean energy is the latest example of how leadership at the local level is pushing the envelope at a critical juncture.

Cities powered by 100% clean energy save taxpayer dollars, help their residents save money, create good jobs, and foster a better quality of life. They are catalysts for a new economy and clean energy future.

A recent economic study estimated that a transition to clean energy will add 1 million jobs in the U.S. by 2030 and increase household disposable income by $350-$400 in 2030 and by as much as $650 in 2050.

The renewable energy sector is booming. Wind and solar prices have rapidly declined in the past five years, and the solar industry is one of the fastest growing sectors of the US economy.

So what are we waiting for? Keep reading to find out how you can tell your city's leaders that you're #ReadyFor100!
